Dulverton deliver at Football Gala

Dulverton Junior School recently took part in the West Somerset Sports Association Annual Football Gala at Knights Templar First School in Watchet. They entered a keen team of five, Captained by nine year old Lewis Govier.

 

The boys played five winning performances, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 3-1, despite only starting training with their new football coach 12 weeks ago. Mr Drummond said; “Having started to work at the school in September, this is a fantastic achievement for the boys; they played with great sportsmanship and determination.” The newly formed team scored seven brilliant goals in total and the excellent goal keeping only conceded one goal.

 

The team consisted of William Hayes, Tyler Slee, Felix Wise, Oliver Shortman and Lewis Govier. Tyler Slee, top goal scorer for the team said; “We had a really good game, we played five games and won all five.”

 

Lewis Govier, Captain for the team said: “It was a great feeling to be Captain and put some goals in the back of the net”.
